Stone & Magnanini Partner Amy Walker Wagner co-presented for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s live CLE program “Ethics & Electronically Stored Information (ESI): Understanding the ‘Do’s’ & Do Not’s’” held on December 1, 2015. The program’s panel examined the ethical obligations attorneys have when dealing with electronic information and communications in their transactional, litigation, and business practices. The panel explored the relevant Model Rules of Professional Conduct and the ethical obligations for attorneys in the digital age to keep up with technology, to protect confidentiality in electronic communications, and how to avoid pitfalls such as the waiver of privilege and work-product communication, as well as the use and abuse of the internet, social media and cloud services.
